Powers in Mass Effect 3 are a set of abilities that can be improved as you progress in the game. These Powers can be used to attack Enemies or to defend you and your squad. As you gain experience, you acquire Squad Points that you can spend to improve aspects of your character. The Powers available to you and your squad are determined by the Classes selected in Character Creation.
These Powers are sorted into regular Powers, Passive Class Powers, and Bonus Powers, and within these categories are then sorted into five types: Biotic, Tech, Combat, Ammo, and Grenade Powers.

Bonus Powers
You can earn one additional bonus power during your playthrough. Bonus Powers can be unlocked by talking your Companions or by completing certain DLC missions. You can unlock two bonus powers per squad member. You have to have at least two playthroughs because you either have Ashley Williams and Kaidan Alenko alive, so you can't obtain both Powers in the same playthrough.
Bonus Powers belong to the same categories as the common Powers Commander Shepard can obtain during the game.
